Christmas is a busy time of the year. We try to finalize the current year and write plans for the coming one. We run to malls to buy gifts for family and friends. We buy groceries and cook till down. But the most important part we neglect is to allow ourselves to spend more time with our family and mostly with our children. Christmas gives us the opportunity to bond with our family and make the most of our relationships.
Spend that time wisely. Take few days off. Give your kids attention and love before your extended family arrives. And what better time than Christmas to teach your children about values like love, compassion, giving, receiving and sharing.
Spending time with your children allows you to bond with your kids and help them gain a sense of belonging and feeling of importance.
Wouldn't be nice to include them in the festive cooking, decorating the house and the tree or wrapping up gifts? Even better, build a snowman together or go ice skating. I have never done ice skating in my life, but I am planning to do it this Christmas. I think that would be a lot of fun :-) I wonder if any of you have done ice skating with your kids?
The key here is not to get too involved in planning the feast and the party, but to give yourself a break and to spend the most valuable time with your family. A family Christmas is the best kind of Christmas and once you have had a good one, you will make it a point to enjoy every future Christmas with your family.
One of the greatest gifts of the holiday season is the gift of time with family. Have A Rocking Christmas!
