Sales funnels have been around for decades, but in recent years they have become easier to scale and manage with the help of online marketing tools & methodologies .
A sales funnel is wide at the top because prospects with all level of engagement enter and eventually the most engaged ones are channeled to the bottom of the funnel to be turned into sales and repeat customers.
Depending on how well you craft your sales funnel, will ultimately decide on how many of these prospects will become customers. As you work down each step of the funnel, you will filter out the leads who have no interest in buying and focus your energy on ‘qualified leads’ who are truly interested of what you have to offer. The more well defined your lead generation tactics, landing pages and follow up emails are, will greatly increase the number of qualified leads, prospects and customers your funnel will produce. Based on MOZ research only 1-3% of the total amount of visitors to your website will make a purchase.
I hope that post brought a little bit more clarity on what sales funnels are. I will see you next time when I will explain the different types of sales funnels.
